RONDO MAXIFRAME EXTERNAL WALL FRAMING SYSTEM
1
GENERAL

If you have pre-customised this work section using the "questions and answers" provided as part of the downloading process, it may be necessary to amend some clauses to suit the final project-specific version.

The section must still be checked and customised to suit the project being specified, by removing any other irrelevant details and adding project-specific details and selections.

This section relates to the supply and erection of Rondo Building Services Pty Ltd Rondo MAXIframe® External Wall Framing system as light-weight steel framing in external wall construction.

It includes:

Modify / expand this clause to suit requirements of the final version of the section.

Rondo Building Services Pty Ltd offer an engineering design service, delivering project specific documentation prior to consent and tender.  A detailed wind and seismic report as part of the consultant supplied information may be required in order to undertake a design.  If required a PS1 from an independent engineer can be provided for a fee, this process is facilitated by Rondo.  By contacting Rondo through the Masterspec work section support function, the design service can be coordinated with this specification section and other consultant documentation.  Rondo project specific documentation can be attached within the specification Contract Appendix.

The Rondo project specific documentation provides a similar level of documentation to shop drawings.  Shop drawings can be provided if the design service is not required.

1.1

Documents listed above and cited in the clauses that follow are part of this specification.  However, this specification takes precedence in the event of it being at variance with the cited document.

Delete from the DOCUMENTS clause any document not cited.  List any additional cited document.

Note - AS/NZS 4600:2005 Amendment 1 is cited by NZBC, but AS/NZS 4600:2018 has not at the time of writing been cited by NZBC. This section uses the 2005 Amendment 1 version as an Acceptable Solution; consult with the BCA as to their requirements if you want to use the 2018 version as an Alternative Solution.

The following are related documents and if referred to in the work section need to be added to the list of DOCUMENTS:

The exceptions to earthing are based on risk, which largely means no electrical cables or equipment in the vicinity of the metalwork.  If there are cables in the vicinity of the steel, the electrician will have to make the assessment.

If electrical design is to AS/NZS 3000:2007 (cited in NZBC G9/VM1), cl 5.4.6.2, any structural metalwork in a domestic dwelling must be earthed regardless of risk (clause deleted in AS/NZS 3000:2018 [not cited in NZBC]).
