DRAINAGE GENERAL NAME CHANGE

The Masterspec work section 7431 DRAINAGE GENERAL (available in, Standard, Structural & Civil, Services, Landscapes) has had a name change to 7431 DRAINAGE COMMON REQUIREMENTS.

Masterspec is gradually changing over work sections that use the title "GENERAL" to "COMMON REQUIREMENTS". This is to reflect the true purpose of the sections and to alleviate confusion with the actual General sections at the beginning of the specification.

7431 DRAINAGE COMMON REQUIREMENTS continues to describe the standard and shared matters for the specific below ground drainage sections;

  • 7441 GROUNDWATER DRAINAGE for subsoil drainage
  • 7451 SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE for storm/surface water drainage
  • 7461 FOUL WATER DRAINAGE for waste/foul water drainage

So 7431 DRAINAGE COMMON REQUIREMENTS is intended to be combined, as appropriate, with the 3 work sections listed above, and they collectively comprise drainage work.

Note: Sanitary systems (foul water drainage system within the building/above ground) are specified separately.
