Streamlined Documentation and Error Prevention with Masterspec

21 Jul 2023

In the fast-paced world of architectural design and documentation, avoiding errors is paramount to the success of any project.

Michael Pepper, from Pepper Architects, highlights the key reasons why Masterspec is their preferred specification software.

Masterspec stands out as the most thorough and up-to-date specification software Michael has ever used, offering excellent support to complement its comprehensive features. However, the game-changing feature for Pepper Architects is the seamless integration of Masterspec with Archicad via Keynotes. Read Michael’s full testimony below.

“Masterspec is our preferred specification software for several reasons.

Aside from being the most thorough we have used, the most up to date, with very good support, the key reason we use Masterspec is because of the integration with Archicad via Keynotes.

A big part of our documentation process is avoiding documentation errors..

This can take many forms, when you have multiple staff working across multiple contract documents all under time pressure.

With hundreds of sheets of drawings that are fluid over months and years, documenting hundreds of trades, products and materials.

All it takes is one word and there can be significant implications on cost and program, not to mention the performance of the building itself once complete.

The integration of Masterspec with the CAD software goes a long way towards reducing the error rate.

We can update a Keynote for example and know with confidence that every single Keynote across all the documentation is updated simultaneously.

Saving time and ensuring there are no errors tucked away on a forgotten sheet.
This is why Masterspec is our preferred specification software.

Michael Pepper
Managing Director
Pepper Architects

For architects and their teams working across multiple documents, juggling hundreds of sheets of drawings, and managing numerous trades, products, and materials, the potential for errors is ever-present. With project timelines stretching over months and years, even a single oversight can have significant cost and scheduling implications, not to mention compromising the building's performance upon completion.

The integration between Masterspec and Archicad streamlines the documentation process and drastically reduces the likelihood of errors. Michael can confidently update a Keynote, knowing that the changes will instantly apply across all the project's documentation. This invaluable feature saves time that would otherwise be spent hunting down individual Keynotes and ensures there are no hidden errors waiting to surprise them on some forgotten sheet.

By offering seamless integration and real-time updates, Masterspec empowers architects like Michael to focus on what they do best: designing exceptional spaces and delivering outstanding projects for their clients. The reduction in error rates and the ability to maintain consistency throughout the documentation process make Masterspec the preferred choice for Pepper Architects, reaffirming its position as an indispensable tool in their architectural practice.
