Enhanced User Experience (UX) with Two New Masterspec Features: Clause in Review and Clause Action & Date Stamp

13 May 2023

We are pleased to announce two fantastic new features that are set to improve your user experience. These updates will be rolled out later this month, and we are confident that they will be of help and value to you as continue to specify.

Firstly, we have implemented a powerful functionality that allows you to hold a clause "in review" without deleting it or disrupting clause numbering. This feature is beneficial not only for MasterKey subscribers but also for any specifier who needs the flexibility to edit and modify the specification as the project progresses. By placing a clause "in review," you can suspend it temporarily and then easily restore it whenever necessary. This enables ample time for discussions and deliberations while ensuring everyone knows the clause is not yet finalised. Within the specification, these specific clauses are highlighted and retained. All exports of the specification and MasterKey Keynotes will accurately reflect the clause status, even if you export before making your final updates. Additionally, the export function has been upgraded to remind you of any clauses that are still "in review."

Secondly, we have introduced a visual date stamp feature for every clause, documenting the last action performed on the clause, the user responsible for the action, and the date and time of the action. To access this information, simply hover over the relevant clause title while in edit mode. Please note that this feature is only available during the editing process within the Masterspec platform.

NEW FUNCTIONALITY #1: CLAUSE IN REVIEW

We have received requests over an extended period to incorporate this feature that enables specifiers to retain of a clause and its numbering within a section while it is under review. See the new feature below, which you will find located on the clause action menu located on the right-hand-side drop-down of any clause.

NEW FUNCTIONALITY #2: CLAUSE ACTIONS & DATE STAMP OF LAST UPDATE

Another exciting update allows you to view the last, most recent action taken on any specification clause within your project. You can easily access this information by hovering over the relevant clause title but only within the "Edit" mode of the Masterspec platform.

Look out for our upcoming update release scheduled for later May 2023 to experience these exciting new features first-hand. We firmly believe that they will improve your workflow and your overall user experience.

The team at Masterspec are constantly striving to provide you with the best possible tools, and we are confident that these additions will be invaluable to you. Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us using the feedback tab on far right of any Masterspec session.

Thank you for your continued support and feedback as we work to make Masterspec even better.
