Masterspec Announces New MasterKey4 for Revit 2025 Enhancements

04 Jul 2024

Streamlined Workflows and Improved Collaboration with MasterKey4

We are excited to announce the latest update to MasterKey4 for Revit 2025. As you may be aware, the new build of Revit 2025 has been upgraded to incorporate Microsoft's .NET 8 framework.

This advancement has required app creators everywhere to modify their applications for compatibility with Revit 2025. For MasterKey, this has provided us with the opportunity to rebuild the software from the ground up with entirely new coding. The new MasterKey v4.0 has allowed us to enhance the original toolset features and introduce new improvements to the functionality of the application, enhancing your user experience.

Key improvements include:

Real-time Updates:

Eliminating the need for manual refreshing, new content from the specification is now directly updated into MasterKey. The refresh key has been repurposed to save the content pack to the project keynotes file, updating the project and informing other users of the updated content.

Notation of Instance Changes to Keynotes:

This version highlights specific changes in the content (in orange text) rather than highlighting the entire project tree. This feature will reduce the need for frequent saves to central, as you can now make an informed decision on whether to accept the update and/or save the keynote changes to the project folder.

Dark Mode Compatibility:

We understand that many of you prefer working in dark mode, which is unhelpfully accessed through File > Options > Colour > UI active theme. This new feature aims to reduce your eyestrain or to look cooler than the rest your tech team.

Automated Communication:

With the new .NET format, we have been able to automate many of the updates between the specification and the application. Additionally, we have significantly improved the speed of the send and receive function for MasterKey4 for Revit 2025.

Enhanced Search Function:

Now you can enter multiple text strings to filter your results for both content and project names.

UI Update:

We have refreshed and updated the applications icons to help. Icons also compatible with both UI theme of Dark and Light.

MasterKey4 empowers you to streamline communication, improve project efficiency, and ensure everyone involved has access to up-to-date information in real-time.
