AS/NZS 1170.2:2011 - Structural Design Actions - Wind Actions, has been updated by Amendment 4: 2016. This new amendment removes ambiguities, and incorporates research and experiences from recent severe wind events in Australia and New Zealand.
The main areas of the Standard affected involve:
- Internal pressures
- Holes and perforations in the building envelope
- Windborne debris impact loading and testing
- Dense Forests added to Terrain Category TC3
- Changes to Peak Crosswind Acceleration formula in appendix G3.2
Due to the way Masterspec refers to AS/NZS 1170.2 there has been very little need to change Masterspec sections. However for Health and Safety reasons, Masterspec has adopted Amendment 4, regarded as an Alternative Solution under NZBC B1/VM1 (which only references up to amendment 3).
