Introducing Masterspec Cloud Issue

23 Feb 2022

CLOUD ISSUE

Share Anywhere, Anytime, to Anyone.

Masterspec has introduced a new way to output and share your specification, targeted to the recipient’s requirements and totally secure. The process is simple and can be performed at any stage of the project. Already live on the Masterspec system, a new export option allows you to generate a link to an online snapshot of your specification as it is at that moment. Sharing is easy and access can be controlled by you on an individual basis. You can share one, some, or all of the work sections in your spec, perfect for briefing partners, costings, RFQ’s and tracking progress of the job.
SHARE To cloud share your specification simply perform the usual output steps but choose the Cloud Issue option rather that PDF or Online Preview. As usual you can select the sections to be output and whether highlighting is active or hidden. The system will create and host an online version of the specification at that point in time and generate a link for you to share with recipients.  SELECT IMG
VERSION The Cloud Issue specification is a ‘snapshot’ of where your project is at any one time. Each issue is date-stamped and reflects the correct content at the time of creation. This allows you to keep a record of the content and changes made to the specification as and when they are made.
COLLABORATE Masterspec’s Cloud Issue can be output with just the content you wish, perfect for briefing collaborators such as Engineers, Contractors, even individual Tradespeople. You can remove the need for searching through the full documentation to find applicable sections. Importantly, mDocs documents associated with selected work sections are included with the output and can be referenced only by the recipient/s you target.
SECURE Cloud Issue allows you to know exactly who has read your specification and when. When outputting, you can make the specification Public so if you provide the secure link they or anyone who is forwarded the link can access the specification, this would be typical so that the link can be passed among the project team to get access. The link is not searchable so it can’t be discovered accidently or guessed as pattern.

For further security you can publish the link to named users (emails) and then only those users can access the content, it cannot be forwarded or accessed by anybody but your practice and the named users. Recipients do not need to be Masterspec subscribers, but they do need to have a free Masterspec account with an email and password. This will allow access to the Cloud Issue you have sent.

You can also change these permissions any time, including when you create a new issue, so you retain full control of project confidentiality.
CONTROL Masterspec’s Cloud Issue puts access control of your project firmly in your hands. It removes instances of editable versions of your project potentially getting into the ‘wrong’ hands and protects your Practice or Consultancy IP. It allows full control of ‘who gets what’ and ‘when they got it’, ensuring the information flow always reflects the purpose and intent of the creator. Additionally, any changes to the specification can only be made on the Master project, which only you control.

Cloud issue will help protect your design intent, articulate the quality or your build and communicate project specific products to everyone in the process of building your project. Masterspec’s Cloud Issue is live and available right now to all Masterspec subscribers. To watch a simple video on using Cloud Issue visit this link or go to this page for further reference. For more information email gen@masterspec.co.nz.
