Masterspec Partners with NZCIC & CSA to Digitise the NZCIC Guidelines

27 Jul 2023

Masterspec, has been working with the New Zealand Construction Industry Council (NZCIC) and the Construction Sector Accord (CSA) in an exciting new collaboration, we are currently in the process of digitising the NZCIC guidelines. This digitisation will be integrated into our current platform, with the aim to enhance accessibility and ease of use for the construction sector.

The upcoming new version of the NZCIC guidelines have also undergone significant updates to align with current industry practices. Some of the key focus areas now include updates on the latest Fire Requirements for Facades, Building Information Modelling (BIM), Safety by Design and Sustainability. All these updates are geared towards ensuring the guidelines are up-to-date and relevant to our ever-evolving construction industry. The full review of the guidelines as a digital asset is scheduled for launch late in quarter four of 2023. When completed, the entire industry will have easy access to this invaluable resource on a platform created by our Masterspec team here in Auckland.

The goal of the industry collaboration is to provide a digital version that is easily accessible to anyone in the construction sector. This release is designed to use the existing Masterspec baseline functionality, so you as existing users will already be familiar with the interface and functionality of the new digital version of the CIC guidelines.  Now you can have the CIC Guidelines and your specifications in the same project for ease of use and reference.

This collaborative effort from Masterspec, NZCIC, and the Construction Sector Accord aims to provide the whole construction sector with a leap forward in the delivery of the guidelines in New Zealand. We are sure the industry will benefit from the latest content updates, ensuring a clearly defined design and construction process to help improve project outcomes and the entire New Zealand built environment. Masterspec is pleased to be able to contribute to this industry partnership by using our resource and digital expertise in delivering content. It’s part of our contribution and commitment to the sector, with the aim to help foster better construction practices throughout New Zealand.
