A SUBSCRIBER HIGHLIGHT: IGNITE ARCHITECTS

10 Nov 2021

Ignite Architects is a full-service design practice that specialises in master planning, architecture, and interior design. Their goal is to create inspiring and compelling places through the power of collaboration.

With many exciting initiatives and projects in the pipelines for this successful architectural practice, it was important for them to have an array of product options throughout the design process. Subsequently their team of talented designers require a large range of products and systems to ensure they can deliver the clients project requirements.

The solution was quite simple. Creating their construction specifications with Masterspec. By using three of Masterspec’s design libraries, Masterspec Standard, Interiors and Basic library, the practice was able to construct each aspect of their build to perfection. With a choice of over 1750 work sections, Ignite had quality, pre-formulated master specification templates at their fingertips. Additionally, with over 270 manufacturers partnered with Masterspec, the information was product specific from the start, making the research process effortless.  “We love that we can use specific product partner work sections in our specs, this makes the process of specifying easier,’ says Jeremy Benseman.

Jeremy’s team is growing year on year as they deliver projects throughout New Zealand and overseas. Some of their greatest highlights have been the well-known Auckland War Memorial Museum, Botany Town Centre’s Garden Lane, and Hobsonville’s Sunderland Hangar. All fantastic accomplishments for the team. With every new project, the team must work together and Masterspec helps them achieve that. “It is easy to use and there is minimal training that is required to get started,’ mentions Jeremy. He also provided a great tip for other designers looking to save time. ‘Use office masters, especially if you work on larger scale projects,’ he says.

The result of Jeremy’s team using multiple libraries together is a growing portfolio of fantastic project outcomes. By using the Standard Library, designers can construct large, high-quality commercial buildings that assist in reducing their risk. Meanwhile, the landscape library provides them with the ability to ensure their patrons’ experience doesn’t stop at the doors. It allows them to extend the envisioned design to complete the surrounding spaces. The interior library provides further internal flexibility.
