By simply dragging the desired keynote from the MasterKey palette and dropping it onto the corresponding element in your drawing, you eliminate the need for manual data entry, reducing the risk of errors and saving valuable time.

MasterKey’s intuitive interface makes the drag and drop process simple and straightforward. The visually guided steps ensure that even users with minimal training can quickly learn and effectively use this feature, making it accessible for all members of your team.

AUTO UPDATE & SYNC

When a user modifies a work section name in the Masterspec project specification document and click "Set to Complete", MasterKey automatically detects the change and updates the corresponding work section palette in Revit in real-time. This immediate synchronisation ensures that your project data is always current, reducing the need for manual updates and minimising the risk of discrepancies.

To help users easily identify which CBI codes have been updated, MasterKey highlights the expand and collapse hierarchy buttons within the work section palette. This visual indication allows users to quickly locate and review the changes, enhancing clarity and improving the efficiency of managing specifications within large and complex projects.

While the work section palette is updated automatically, MasterKey provides users with control over when these changes are applied to the actual drawings. The drawing itself is not altered automatically to prevent unintended modifications. Instead, users must click the refresh icon to apply the updated work section names to the drawing. This approach offers a balance between automation and user control, ensuring that changes are deliberate and verified before being implemented.

Getting Started with MasterKey

Download and Install

MasterKey is downloaded as a separate application. For a smooth installation process, ensure Revit is closed before installing the add-in.

User Authentication

Verify that your personal Masterspec User ID is associated with the practice account and that your administrator has added you as a MasterKey user.

Once installed and Revit is restarted, MasterKey automatically appears within your Revit Add-Ins tab, providing convenient access to your practice specifications.
