THE BEST WAY TO COLLABORATE THROUGH MASTERSPEC

09 Sep 2021

It’s 4:30 p.m. and you’re ready to throw in the towel for the day. Your construction specification for that brand new building  is looking pretty incomplete. You’ve stumbled on a few specific manufacturer products and have a few questions that need answering.

Am I using the right sealant or coating for that steel component? Is that interior paint going to suit my projects needs or do I need the other one? What’s the architectural product I need for this?

Sound familiar? Save yourself the hours of research and wandering through webpage after webpage. End your feelings of ‘not so sure’ by sending a Work Section Support request. It’s the best way to collaborate with the supplier and get real input into your specification within Masterspec.

So, how can you make sure you’re doing it correctly? Well, we have three tips you might find helpful.

When in doubt – ask.

Don’t be shy! Suppliers love to hear from you and answer your queries. When you send them a Work Section Support request, they can provide you with specialised product knowledge to make sure you get it right each time. Save your client’s money and your time by getting the product system, and construction information you need the first time. No guessing required.

Send as much information as you can.

You’re a specialist in knowing the details about your project, but a supplier won’t be...yet. Make sure you clue them in by letting them know a description and more information about your architectural design, building drawings or engineering plans. This will ensure that your request gets responded to promptly. It will also ensure the supplier inputs the right information into your specification and answers your questions correctly.

Use the file share option to send important details.

Whether it’s a render, hardware schedule, architectural schedule or more, you can share it within the chat function in Work Section Support. This will provide you and the supplier with clarity. If you need to take it offline, drop your phone number or email address so the conversation can continue.

There’s nothing quite like the peace of mind of a professional, well-thought-out specification. Build quality specifications in Masterspec with pre-formatted, branded work sections and then collaborate with Masterspec suppliers through Work Section Support.

If you’re unsure of how to use Work Section Support, or new to Masterspec, and want to see it in action, watch this video or reach out to our team for free training.
