To help reduce repetitive content and streamline the user experience, a new schedule section 1278SR SCHEDULE OF SLIP RESISTANCE TESTING has been released this month. This coincides with an update to work sections containing slip resistance clauses that has further refined content, in particularly reducing guidance note content.
Within work sections there is now a much simpler method of defining the criteria required for slip resistance testing. Once the location, slope and surface of the material to be tested is described in the selection's clause TEST - SLIP RESISTANCE, a specifier only needs to refer to the guidance notes to choose a test condition (e.g. sloping access wet) to complete the selection.
A work section's TEST - SLIP RESISTANCE clause references the new schedule section 1278SR SCHEDULE OF SLIP RESISTANCE TESTING. This schedule section is automatically included with any work sections that have requirements in relation to slip resistance. Without any editing this schedule section contains all the additional information that is required for the contractor to identify the slip resistance test required, and the minimum test value required by the work sections.
This schedule section also includes three scheduling clauses that will automatically identify all work sections that contain the following clauses:
- SLIP RESISTANCE - SURFACES EXEMPT FROM TESTING
- SLIP RESISTANCE - PREVIOUSLY TESTED SURFACE
- TEST - SLIP RESISTANCE
