These instructions relate to using Masterspec Link with the Masterspec Standard, Structural & Civil, Services, Landscapes, Basic and Interiors Libraries. Link operates slightly differently with Masterspec Minor Residential - seperate instructions are at the bottom of the navigation. Navigating the specification It is a great time-saver to know how to navigate by other means than the vertical scroll bars. Below we look at two helpful functions available in Word. Document Map Open this navigation panel by selecting View > Navigation pane. If the view opens in thumbnail view change this to Document Map. Navigate to any heading in the specification by clicking on a title in the panel on the left; in the picture above we have clicked on 3100 CONCRETE GENERAL. Clicking on a plus next to an item will expand it and conversely clicking on a minus will condense the view. To expand or condense the entire list right-click on a plus or a minus and choose the appropriate option from the shortcut menu. The Document map can be closed by selecting View > Navigation pane again.. Select Browse Object The double arrows underneath the vertical scrollbar navigate, either up or down, through your document one page at a time. This behaviour is linked to the Select Browse Object which can be used as follows: The Select browse object button is located on the bottom right of the screen between the double arrows, under the vertical scroll bar. Click on the circle to open the select browse object panel There are 12 objects. Click on an object to select the new browse object. The double arrows beneath the vertical scroll bar will, when used, jump to the next object of the type chosen. With Masterspec created specifications the Browse by Section option, shown above in blue, can be used to navigate through the work sections. Next.... |
